The Writing Revolution – science, animals, single paragraph outline

This resource contains four Single Paragraph Outline scaffolds, from The Writing Revolution approach for these animals: penguin, panda, elephant, owl, koala, shark, whale, toucan, rhino. The sample paragraphs would work perfectly for a science unit on living things, animals or for World Earth Day.
- One example paragraph for each animal so the students can be shown a modelled example.
- One blank SPO where you can add your own different paragraph for your students. This is helpful if students need further practise.
- One scaffold where the topic and concluding sentences are provided and the students only need to focus on the note taking for the paragraph. A section on this template also asks the students to brainstorm appositives they could use in their paragraph about the animals.
- A final template for students to write a paragraph about each animal is also included.
