What is a dinosaur dig? Place the dig sheet at the bottom of a tub – no cutting or preparing required. Add some sand, rice, kitty litter etc on top and you’re ready to go. Our budding explorers (palaeontologists) search for bones and have never had so much fun practising their letters! With over 150 digs covering a variety of skills, your students will be able to play and learn throughout the year. These pages can be used to supplement any phonics program to support letter recognition. Each page is stand alone and can be used in any order. There is a page for each letter where children have to dig to find the letter which is NOT the target letter (eg a whole page of a’s, giving them heaps of practice reading a, until they find the letter which doesn’t belong, an s). The letter that does not belong on these pages follows the Jolly Phonics letter progression (with a few variations as this does not contain diagraphs) so they will also be reviewing the previous letter in the JP progression.
