Animal Adaptations Rottnest Island Memory Game

This Animal Adaptations Rottnest Island Memory Game resource has been designed to be used in a variety of ways to allow you to differentiate within your classroom.

It has been created to compliment other Animal Adaptations Rottnest Island resources in my store, all with a focus on adaptations (structural, behavioural and physiological) present for 7 different animals found on, and around, Rottnest Island, Western Australia.

This hands-on activity can be used to generate student interest when introducing animal adaptations as part of the Biological Sciences curriculum, or to consolidate learning that has taken place throughout the term. It provides a great opportunity for discussion on vocabulary specific to this topic, and can be completed individually, with a partner, or in small groups.

Simply print, laminate and cut out as many sets as you need. Before storing in a Ziploc bag/container, you may like to mark the backs of the cards with two different colours so that the two card types (written clue & adaptation type) are easily identifiable once turned over. Store with the self-checking cards for easy access.

You may choose to include all the matching combinations in one task or simplify the task by removing some cards based on student needs, on the time you have available, or what your teaching focus is at the time.
