Australian Money | Count and Sort Games | Year 2/3

This Australian Money Games resource has 3 sets of differentiated cards for grades 2 and 3. Students will practise counting notes and coins to $10, $20 and $100 and matching them with their written values. A bank of notes and coins, dice and counters are also needed for two of the games. Great to use for individuals and with small groups, in maths centres, groups or rotations.
Suggested games include:
- Concentration or Memory
- Moneybags – based on the popular card game “War”
- Thief – players draw cards from a bag and count or make up amounts of money. Watch out for the thief!
- Go Fish
- Spiral – players either collect money from the bank or pay money into the bank, depending on the card they land on.

- Set 1 – Counting notes and coins to $10
- Set 2 – Counting notes and coins to $20
- Set 3 – Counting notes and coins to $100
- “Thief” cards
- Game suggestions and instructions
