Beaches and Bays of Rottnest Island Word Search – Differentiated

These Word Search activities, with a focus on the Beaches & Bays of Rottnest Island have been created to allow for differentiation in your classroom. They provide opportunities for students to become familiar with the vocabulary of place names of beaches and bays on Rottnest Island, Western Australia.
Words have been hidden horizontally, vertically, diagonally, and occasionally written backwards. There may be some overlapping.
Teachers can choose from the following options based on the needs of the students in their class:
•20 x 20 grid – 15 words
•15 x 15 grid – 11 words
•12 x 12 grid – 8 words
A completed answer sheet has been provided for each word search activity. This can be used for self-checking (individually, as a small group, or as a whole class).
Lower case letters have been used in this resource. It is important to point out to your students that when referring to place names in written form, a capital letter is used for the first letter to identify them as proper nouns.
A no-prep resource for early finishers, for introducing a new topic, or for at home work.
