Looking for a fun Science Vocabulary activity about Electricity with a way to get students out of their seats and get them moving around the classroom? Look no further as this is a Science Vocabulary Hunt Gallery Walk Activity. You can use this engaging activity to develop students’ Science vocabulary. This is best used as a front-loading activity. Your students will develop a deeper understanding of the Science terms that are mentioned in your Australian Science Electricity Unit for Year 6. This is great for helping your students to build their Science vocabulary while providing opportunity for them to integrate knowledge.

Vocabulary words include- electricity, current, circuit, battery, wire, switch, conductor, insulator, plug and socket.

Don’t just hang some words on the wall, INTERACT with them! Transform your word wall into an interactive reference tool that students engage with. Don’t let it become just another set of posters on the wall!

Students will work individually (or in pairs) and get moving around the classroom to do a gallery walk. A friendly competition always increases engagement, so perhaps set a timer. This activity can also be used for unit reviews, casual supply teacher plans, extension activities, early-finishers, or just for fun on the day before break.
