WHAT YOU GET…

PAGE 1 of the worksheet has worked examples of solving two and three step equations with great visuals for students to continually refer back to throughout the lessons. The first page is best used in the explicit teaching and introduction of the topic.

PAGE 2 and 3 allow students opportunity to practice solving two and three-step equations with space for checking their answers using substitution. These pages are designed to slowly release students into independent learning.

PAGE 4 is an error analysis activity, where students are given worked examples and need to identify the error and solve the equation correctly.

PAGE 5 is short response questions where students can apply their knowledge by solving authentic problems.

PAGE 6 – Riddle Time is a fun page where students need to solve linear equations to find the answer to riddles.
