This activity pack is designed to be used with the NSW Department of Education English Stage 2, Year A Unit 2 Component B sample unit. Unit 2 is non-linear, meaning some lessons use both the mentor text (Iceberg) and the supporting text (Earth’s Incredible Oceans). This resource is to be used for Lessons 1, 2, 3, 6, 9, 10, 11 and 12 of Unit 2.

The first part of this resource (pages 4 to 26) is to be used for Lessons 1, 2, 3, 6, 9, 10, 11 and 12 of Unit 2. As the unit changes between texts, instruct students to use the relevant booklet resource pages. For example, use Iceberg for Lessons 1 to 3, then change to Earth’s Incredible Oceans for Lesson 4. A Table of Contents is included in the beginning pages of the resource and can be included in the student booklet. All pages are clearly labelled with the lesson they correspond to. (Alternatively, you can use the complete booklet and follow the lessons chronologically, linked below).

The second part of this resource (pages 27 to 38) contains everything else you’ll need! Anchor charts, modelled writing, success criteria, etc. Print these all at once or as you progress through the lessons. Feel free to print these pages in A3 for clear and purposeful classroom anchor charts.

The third section of this resource (pages 39 – 94) contains ADDITIONAL worksheets and activities including reading comprehension, grammar, writing templates, vocabulary cards and MORE! Answer sheets are also included for this section.
