Inspiring Faith – Ephesians (Reading God’s Word for Kids)

Inspiring Faith is a Christian education resource designed to help children learn to read the Bible for themselves, and to consider what God says to them through His word. It may be useful for on-campus or home Bible study in individual, small group or whole-class contexts.

This Booklet: Ephesians

This booklet is designed to help introduce 4-8 year olds to the ‘grown up Bible’, helping them to learn that it is God’s word for His people – including them – and to encourage them to become familiar with its structure and to begin reading it for themselves (with the support of an adult). It may also be helpful for students in the middle-primary years who are beginning to read the Bible independently.

Each devotion includes 5 Ps:

• Passage – one to two verses from the Bible (CEV) to look up and read together. A shorter snippet is included in bold font for younger children to focus on.
• Point – a summary of the main idea/s from the passage.
• Ponder – a short devotional to illustrate an idea from the passage.
• Pray – a suggested prayer in response to the passage.
• Play – a simple activity/game to reinforce the main ideas from the passage. This may be helpful to complete earlier in the day or later in the week to facilitate further discussion and thinking.
