Inspiring Voice – Stage 3 Debating Resource Pack

Inspiring VOICE is a set of resources to support students’ development of persuasive speaking skills, with a focus on debating.

Teaching persuasive speaking skills helps students to learn to articulate, advocate and even agitate on matters of importance to them as individuals and within society.

Formal debating experiences can help students learn how to explore and argue for different perspectives in meaningful, effective, respectful ways.

Inspiring VOICE resources can be used to help students develop skills in identifying opposing perspectives, defining and clarifying statements, generating ideas, identifying evidence to support or refute a position, structuring arguments, using persuasive techniques, and engaging in a formal debate.

This resource is predominantly designed for students in NSW Stage 3, although students in higher stages may also find it beneficial.
