Mars Colony Lego STEM Challenge

Mars Colony LEGO STEM Challenge is a high-engagement, low-prep task where students design and build a functioning settlement on Mars using LEGO. Through an integrated reading text and structured design brief, students apply scientific understanding, problem-solving and collaboration skills to meet real-world constraints such as shelter, energy, food, transport and communication. Designed for grade 3-6 classrooms but could be suitable for younger students, this challenge supports deep thinking while remaining accessible and highly adaptable.
