Fun Maths centre activity!
There are 11 printable math games: the perfect way to give students opportunity to master and remember multiplication facts. As they play, students are working on multiplication fact fluency, using and trying to quickly recall times tables facts.
What’s included?
- 22 printable boards: one for each set of facts, 10X, 4X, 6X etc Print options, print in colour or black ink
- instructions are on the boards
- a multiplication grid, to support students who can’t recall answers. They can play independently
This is a game for two players. In the beginning, students can use the answer grid for support, but soon they no longer need it. Remembering multiplication facts makes the game flow quickly, as it is inconvenient for students to have to refer to the grid
How to play?
- Players need one game board, counters each and a 1pack of cards
- They turn over a card, multiply by the number of the board, and cover the answer.
- This can be a bump game if players agree. Then, if another player’s marker is on the answer, they can choose to bump them.
Playing in pairs encourages students to talk about their decisions, successes, mistakes and I believe this sharing of ideas is vital to education.
The games are also available for black ink printing. I suggest printing on colour paper and laminating for using multiple times.
