Is your times tables practice boring? Let’s face it, once children know how to do multiplication, memorising the tables for recall can get boring rather quickly. Having taught secondary maths for many years, I know how important it is for kids to not just know what multiplication means and how to work the sums out (don’t skip this! Check out my store for activities to help with learning what multiplication means), being able to rapidly recall their multiplication facts are so important. My students LOVE doing I have… who has…? games – and this one is no exception! We have a time on the board for completing these games and every time I introduce a new I have… who has…? game they desperately want to practice so they can try to beat that time with the new game. If they do, big class rewards are on offer (well, big to them – a few dojos doesn’t hurt!).
