Students need to learn the correct order in which to complete multiple operations within the same number sentence. BIDMAS is an acronym that your students can learn to help them remember the order of operations.

Rapid Recall Routines are a quick way to revise, review and reinforce concepts to ensure long-term retention.

The Order of Operations BIDMAS Rapid Recall Routine will provide 7 – 10 minutes of engaging daily practice for your students to recite, recall and apply their knowledge and understanding of the order in which to calculate the operations in a number sentence.

Students will recite and recall the correct order of operations using the acronym BIDMAS. Then they will apply their knowledge and understanding to correctly solve number sentences which include two or more operations.

This Rapid Recall Routine can be used as a whole class warm up, a small group consolidation session or for individual practice and revision. The slides can be used as a digital presentation or printed and used as flash cards.
