Printable Informational texts and task cards for Literacy Centres. Students read and complete task cards activities to improve their comprehension skills, close reading, justifying opinions and deep thinking.
The bird topic engages and interests most students: Puffins, Pelicans, Owls, Kookaburras, Red Cardinals and Robins. There are some fun activities, eg drawing the bird, whistling or copying the bird’s call. This is great reading activities also integrate with Science.

- Printable, non-fiction text about each bird. Either print this text into 6 short, “bite size” pieces, or a whole page of text.
- Each text comes with its own set of 14 task cards: total of 84 tasks. Most of the task cards offer students some choice of activities.
- QR Codes for students to watch, listen and learn to draw each bird
- Black ink master pages. You can use these pages to make a small interactive book for the tasks.
- Tracking sheets, so students and teacher can record work that is completed.
