Real Life Reading Activities SET 3

These are great non-fiction reading resources for Literacy centres. The activities are all based on reading things in the real world, that students will encounter in their everyday lives: safety advice, recipe, technology, Rights and Responsibilities of the Child, how to instructions etc. These make great Literacy Centre Activities.

What’s included?

• There are 20 cards, each with a real-life text.
• There is a worksheet with tasks for each card.
• On the worksheets, I have some MUST DO and some CAN DO tasks.
• There is a tracking sheet for students to keep a record of completed work.

I’ve included the CAN DO, to cater for differences in students’ interests, experiences and abilities.

Depending upon time, I usually ask students to choose one or two CAN DO tasks.

I suggest you cut and laminate the cards. and store with copies of the worksheets.
