Story Character Activities – Interactive Puzzle, Quiz and Brainstorming Tasks

This resource has 4 interactive powerpoint activities that focus on characters from fantasy and/or fairy tale stories. They were made for Special Education students but could also be used with students in early year levels.

There are three parts in each activity:

Part 1: A basic, four-piece jigsaw puzzle with a picture of a story character

Part 2: A three question, multiple choice quiz game that includes the following questions:

Who is the character in the picture?

What story is this character from?

Which word best describes this character?

Part 3: A brainstorming activity with a question that relates to the character (or type of character) in the puzzle – For example, in the Big Bad Wolf activity, students are asked to think of as many story characters they can think of that are dogs.

The characters in the puzzle games are:

Activity 1: Puss in Boots

Activity 2: Captain Hook

Activity 3: The Big Bad Wolf

Activity 4: The Queen of Hearts

*A set of instructions on how to open and use the files have been included. Please make sure to read these.
