Target Tier 2 Vocabulary with 12 Reading Comprehension Passages

This pack includes 12 engaging stories, each focusing on 8 Tier 2 vocabulary words, for a total of 72 targeted words. Designed to build vocabulary and enhance reading comprehension, this resource offers a variety of activities to deepen students’ understanding.

Each passage is double-sided and includes:

1. Targeted Vocabulary: 8 Tier 2 words highlighted in the text. Students will read a 2-paragraph passage and locate these words, then highlight any additional words that are new to them.
2. Matching Definitions: After reading, students match the words to their definitions, reinforcing their understanding with context clues from the passage.
3. Drawing Comprehension: To further demonstrate comprehension, students will draw their favorite word, allowing them to creatively express their understanding.
4. Comprehension Questions: Students will answer 8 comprehension questions, each targeting one of the Tier 2 words, helping to reinforce vocabulary in context.

This resource is flexible and can be used in a variety of settings—whole class, small groups, individually, or as homework.
