Victorian Curriculum Achievement Standards Calculators

$16.00

Here is an excel spreadsheet that will calculate your students’ achievement standard percentage. All it takes is some simple data input. This will save you a lot of time and effort trying to decipher their progression point and it will also give you the confidence needed to be certain in your judgement!

Included here are Foundation to Level 6 which enables you to differentiate your planning and to assess your students at, below and above expected levels.

While all year level spreadsheets are in separate documents, if your preference is to have a single assessment document, you can copy & paste so that you can mix and match your to suit your preferred setup. For example you might only want the reading for levels at, above and below.

Rank your students’ achievements using the following four levels against the ‘I can’ statements listed in column A. Each “I can” statement is worded from the Victorian Curriculum Achievement Standards.

3 = Established – Student regularly and consistently shows they have achieved this skill/concept
2 = Consolidating – Student more often than not shows they have achieved this skill/concept
1 = Beginning – Student regularly needs assistance or rarely shows they have grasped this skill/concept
0 = Yet to learn – Student has not grasped this concept or not covered in class yet.

Once you input this data, the spreadsheet will display the total and percentage that your student is achieving for the curriculum based areas.

The formula is also colour coordinated to highlight students achieving below 50% as red, between 50% and 80% as orange and above 80% as green.

Often in reporting, schools work by students achieving 80%+ they will receive the correlating progression point, therefore if your student is showing as green you can confidently award the student either that progression point or most likely even look to the next level to see what they are achieving in that achievement standard. However, it is important to check with your individual school’s policy!

While this is a helpful tool for reporting it is also a fabulous planning resource. Your visual data will inform your classroom planning because you can easily see which part of the curriculum your cohort is excelling at or struggling with.

Included on tabs along the bottom, with I can statements, are the following curriculum areas:
English – Reading and Viewing
English – Writing
English – Speaking & Listening
Mathematics- Number & Algebra
Mathematics- Measurement & Geometry
Mathematics- Statistics & Probability

This spreadsheet has been formulated based off the Foundation to Level 6 Victorian Curriculum Achievement Standards.

♥ I hope this resource helps save you time when it comes to assessing your students and deciphering their achievements for reports ♥
