Cultivate a Generation of Change-Makers: Transforming Children from "Me" to "We"
Our flagship Award Winning initiative, Community Minded Kids equips children 8-12 years old to be active change agents. By helping students understand and contribute to their local community, we cultivate the community-minded citizens of tomorrow while enhancing their immediate well-being.
Key Benefits for Teachers
The program is specifically designed to support educators in the following ways:
- Curriculum Alignment & Reduced Prep: CMK provides a series of ready-to-use lesson plans, worksheets, and digital presentations. It is intentionally aligned with Australian State Education Wellbeing frameworks and the NEST evidence-based framework for national child and youth wellbeing and the Civics and Citizenship curriculum, allowing teachers to meet educational standards without additional curriculum mapping.
- Flexible Delivery Options: Teachers can choose between physical "Do and Discover" passbooks, a comprehensive Online Portal, or a bundled deal. The program is highly adaptable, allowing teachers to modify lessons for students with special needs or diverse abilities.
- Improved Classroom Climate: By shifting students from a "me" to "we" mindset, the program builds empathy, inclusion, and a sense of belonging. This prosocial focus can lead to calmer, more focused classrooms where students take collective responsibility for their learning environment.
- Professional Support & Resources: Participating teachers receive direct support, including induction sessions (45 minutes) and online portal support.
- Actionable Classroom Tools: Beyond lessons, the program includes practical assets such as:
- Resource Guides and lesson ideas shared by other participating schools.
- Student Certificates downloadable CMK certificates for student achievement/program completion
- Interactive Passbooks that move learning outside the classroom, giving students "real-world" discussion points to bring back to class.
- Communiverse - Communiverse brings together students, educators, and parents to share community discoveries and stories, as well as cool community building ideas. Join the conversation and get inspired by a network dedicated to making a difference.
