It is simply a guide, to help you make this experience more than just “reading a book”, and instead offer you an experience of learning, that your family may cherish for years to come. “Living Books“ are meant to do just as their name suggests; add life and wonder. “Magic Australia” did this for me and my kids, and I hope you will enjoy the journey as well.

The first section of this book is for you, the homeschool parent, to use as a guide. It does not need to be printed, but you can print what you feel you need; the templates for example. The student pages can be printed multiple times for each of your students.

Be sure to read the chapter guide before you begin, as this will help you see the topics mentioned in each chapter. You can then choose to go away and spend some time planning how you will learn a little more about that topic; Maybe through more books, an excursion, a documentary or artwork, a holiday, or perhaps a day trip to the beach.

The templates provided are a simple way to document a little of the learning. Spaces for drawing, narrations, and copy work are provided to use while you read aloud.

Maybe you are even travelling around Australia? We read this book while we travelled, and this was our geography lesson for a whole 9 months (yes, we read it slowly, and it was great, especially when you get to be in the very places mentioned in the pages…priceless)!
