New Year’s Eve (5 Maths and 5 Writing Tasks) Teach how to count back in time, explore clocks and record tasks you might do on New Year’s Eve with this pack.

Mathematics Tasks

• Arrange numbers 0-12 forward and backward. This will help to determine whether they will be able to read the clock numbers
• Draw and then make a clock
• Put times in sequence from 1pm to midnight – match to written times
• Match analog/analogue to digital times for o’clocks and half pasts
• Sequence tasks we might do on New Year’s Eve

English Tasks

• Alphabet Key, write words or phrases to describe New Year’s Eve
• New Year’s Resolutions – record them and keep them safe and read them next year
• Shopping List for a party you are designing
• Write a letter to invite your family and friends to a party
• Recount of what you did on New Year’s Day or New Year’s Eve
