Real Life Reading Texts and Tasks BUNDLE

These are great non-fiction reading resources for Literacy centres. The activities are all based on reading things in the real world, that students may encounter in their everyday lives: a menu, road signs, TV guide, cinema schedule, price list, safety advice, recipe, technology, Rights and Responsibilities of the Child, how to instructions etc. These make great Literacy Centre Activities.

The tasks ask them to recall the facts: remember and write about their prior knowledge and experiences: predict outcomes and sequence events.

What’s included?

This is a bundle of 3 sets, so there are 60 cards, each with a real-life text.

There is a worksheet with tasks for each card.

On the worksheets, I have some MUST DO and some CAN DO tasks.

SET 1 also has some additional fun puzzle sheets.

Set 2 is a little easier, which will allow you to cater and differentiate, whilst it appears that all students are doing similar tasks.

I’ve included the CAN DO, to cater for differences in students’ interests, experiences and abilities.

Depending upon time, I usually ask students to choose one or two CAN DO tasks.

I suggest you cut and laminate the cards. and store with copies of the worksheets.
