Spelling and Word Building Activity SET 3

This printable Spelling activity for Literacy Centres, that encourages students to use and implement their knowledge of phonics, word and letter patterns into their spelling. These task cards provide opportunities for students to study words, write, read and think about letters and possible combinations, and still have fun! An easy activity for literacy groups, because it is an independent or small group task, with no prep.

The challenge is to see how many small words students can build, using 12 specified letters.

Instructions are on the front, so simply print and laminate. Store in plastic bag with recording sheets, or simply have students record in notebooks.

Children love the competitiveness of this activity if you wish to make it a competition! The keyboard appeals to most ages.

This works well as a Spelling/Language group activity, a homework or early finishers challenge.
