Spelling Game suitable for individual word lists

This Spelling game makes it more fun to learn and think about Spelling! It will cater for all levels of ability, as each child is using their own individual Spelling list. This makes an easy prep activity for literacy groups.

Children love the variety of this game, and it makes learning spelling fun, instead of a chore! This game encourages children to:

• look at the words,
• count syllables and letters,
• look at the shape of letters and word
• think and give clues for meanings,
• synonyms, antonyms etc. So it
• increases vocabulary and thinking about the words too.

Use as:

• group activity
• for parents to liven up the chore of learning that weekly Spelling List
• use a board on a Homework sheet (a parent and student can play. The parent uses the student’s list of words, or words from previous lists, as this reinforces and revises.)
