Fun Math centre activity!
There are 22 different printable math games: the perfect way to give students opportunity to master and remember addition facts. As they play, students are working on fact fluency, using facts, making ten and twenty.
What’s included?
- 44 printable boards: options, print either in colour or black ink
- instructions are on the boards
- There are games for adding: 1, 2, 5, 10, 50, 100 and making 10 and 20.
- an addition grid, to support students who can’t recall answers. They can play independently
This is a game for two players. In the beginning, students can use the answer grid for support, but soon they no longer need it. Remembering addition facts makes the game flow quickly, as it is inconvenient for students to have to refer to the grid.
How to play?
- Players need one game board, counters and a 1 pack of cards
- They turn over a card, add a specific number on the board, and cover the answer.
- This can be a bump game if players agree. Then, if another player’s marker is on the answer, they can choose to bump them.
Playing in pairs encourages students to talk about their decisions, successes, mistakes and I believe this sharing of ideas is vital to education.
The games are also available for black ink printing. I suggest printing on colour paper and laminating for using multiple times.
