This Core History Skills Rubric is a Sass Education Resource that provides an editable rubric for a wide range of assessment tasks. This is an example of a History Rubric that assesses Core Skills such as analysis, communication, use of evidence and more. It uses academic standards of assessment that work! The rubric uses student friendly language and is structured in a way that the difference between the levels A-E is immediately recognisable and easy to identify in student responses.
The nature of Core Skills is that they are generic and can be applied in a wide range of assessment tasks and can also be used in other subject areas that assess these skills. This is a very versatile rubric and will save you a lot of time in writing task-specific rubrics! This resource is suited to assessing Years 7 – 10 and may also be used to assess Years 11 and 12.
The principles in this rubric can also be tailored to address more specific assessment criteria that address the Australian Curriculum Content Descriptions. The pages in this resource that contain rubrics are editable.
