“Crocodile Treason” Printable Legend from South Africa with tasks

This printable legend and tasks makes a great Literacy Centre activity. The tasks require students to make connections and think as they read. This is a re-told legend from South Africa.

• There is a traditional tale that I have retold. This is a legend, called “Crocodile Treason” A tale about a smart crocodile, and explains “crocodile tears”.
• a printable, black ink text of the tale, for you to copy.
• set of 20 task cards, plus black ink master pages.
• many 20 task cards, give students at least two choices of tasks.
• a tracking sheet, so students and teacher can record work as it is completed.
