Maths Center Activities Doubling and Addition Strategies

These are printable Math Center Activities involving addition strategy of DOUBLING numbers 0-20. These are Maths centre activities, suitable for Kinder, Year 1 and Year 2, there are 33 pages of tasks. You can print and use whole sheets as worksheets, but I suggest cutting and laminating cards so you can re-use in Math Centres.

This builds on understanding and skills, so students can keep developing and extending. The activities give students the support of images to begin, and progress to numbers as they grasp concepts. I’ve added number lines as support. You can sort the strips so students use smaller numbers, and as they gain confidence and knowledge they can progress to larger ones.

These activities involve doubling and adding numbers 0-20

• 20 strips with images to double: number line if needed
• 20 strips with doubles: number line if needed
• 20 strips with vertical doubles
• 20 strips with doubles plus 1,
• 20 strips with doubles plus 10
• 3 board games involving doubling: instructions to print on reverse. These games are Cover Bump Games, which the students really enjoy. The games also develop in difficulty.

I’ve added 1 clue card to help students understand doubling, as well as a grid to print for reference and support, until the facts are committed to memory.
