New Year Setting Goals

Goal Setting and Reflecting for the New Year – The beginning of a new year is a great time to set new goals and map out what the year will bring. Use the banner and mobile ideas to motivate your students to set realistic and achievable goals. Record them in a booklet to keep and reflect on as the year continues.

There are detailed instructions at the start of each section.

Reflections on last year

• This page will help to record three highlights for last year

• You can then celebrate these milestones and build on them for this year

Pennants or Banners

• Great for display, color them and display

• The first pennant can be copied and glued on the back of each one for each student

All About Me

• There are two versions for favourite/favorite and colour/color

• Add the information and then display or place into a class book to help to get to know one another

Interactive Note Pages

• With different fonts

• Record what you would like to be – what you would like to be able to do – would like to do – would like to see

Make a Mobile

• Choose the yellow or the white headings

• Write comments for each one and then attach them together by using string to hang in the classroom. Use the circle mark to place holes for hanging

Learning Goals Booklet

• Copy the pages you need and staple where the staple marks are

• There is a blank page for goals you may want to include

• Cut in half to make two books

New Year thoughts

• Copy one for each child and brainstorm the information before they record in their own booklet.

• On each page record what you like to do this year, with Number One

being the most important

Autographs

• Have a go at writing your autograph and collecting those of your classmates

• Do this task at the end of the year again and compare signatures.
