I Made this resource with educators in mind. You can print the PDF version to use as a student workbook or booklet for an in-class study. Alternatively, you can use the recorded MP4 to demonstrate during online classes.

Much of the content in this resource is tied to the classic movie The Never-Ending Story III.  I would advise educators to either present the movie in class or give it as homework before class. I have done this in the past, and my students told me that it gave them a better understanding of the fantasy genre overall.

My booklet also makes use of intriguing and dynamic character examples from widely read books and contemporary media. To connect with pupils, and foster a feeling of familiarity, the resource mentions Harry Potter, Dune, Coraline, and The Lord of the Rings. There are also helpful explanations and motifs related to fantasy. I have added a related exercise that will help students hone their creative writing abilities. I believe that there are countless ways to make this accessible to students in different situations. In the past, I published this resource on TEAMS, OneNote, and Compass. Lastly, each page features attractive, contemporary designs that will appeal to students because the aesthetics have been created with them in mind!

This resource is used in conjunction with The Never-ending Story III slideshow( also found on this site!). It talks about important and reoccurring themes in the Fantasy genre such as heroism, loyalty, and quests. It also clearly discusses the importance of motifs, magic, good versus evil, as well as, reality versus fiction. Every time I have used this resource in class I’ve had a fun, fantastic, fantasy lesson. I hope you will have the same result!
